The Green Party recently unveiled a 15m banner with the slogan "Climate change: it's time to act" on the Millennium Bridge in Dublin to mark the publication of the IPCC report and the launch of a post card campaign.
The postcards, addressed to the Taoiseach, read:
"Climate change is the greatest challenge facing mankind. I am willing to play my part but I also want your Government to show leadership. Please act now by:
Building more public transport so I
can travel quicker and cleaner;
Improving building regulations so
that every building is energy
efficient;
Investing in renewable energy
systems so I use less fossil fuels;
Reforming the tax system so that the
polluter pays;
Giving farming a future by promoting
forestry and lower emission crops;
We have a decade to meet this
challenge, it is time for you to
act."
