Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown Waste:

Ballyogan Recycling Park

Links to: Introduction, Ballyogan Recycling Park, Bring Banks in your areaComposting, Waiver Scheme, Waste Charges, What happens to your waste?

The Civic Recycling Facility (CRF) at Ballyogan Recycling Park accepts a wide range of items for recycling as outlined in the table below.  Waste Management Company Greenstar has been awarded the contract to run the facility on behalf of Dun Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council. Non-recyclable wastes will also be accepted at the CRF for the appropriate charges. Charges are outlined below.  This facility is for domestic use only. There have been queues at peak times at weekends, so try and plan your journey for during the week, if possible

How to get there?

The Civic Recycling Facility (CRF) is very close to the old landfill entrance on Ballyogan Road.  Once you drive into the facility, turn right just before the weighbridge gates.  Once you enter the CRF, there are two distinct areas.  The Bring Centre for standard items is straight ahead and there is no charge here. To enter the main CRF area for recycling all other materials, turn left at the kiosk. Many items are accepted free of charge. Items accepted for a charge are outlined in the table below.

How do you use the CRF?

There is a separate container or skip for each type of material at the CRF, all materials must be segregated.  Wet or dirty material can contaminate other dry recyclables resulting in a whole load having to be disposed of in a residual landfill.  Materials such as metals, wood and green waste can be recycled and reused if collected separately.

Points to remember:

Recyclables should be as clean & dry as possible

Rinse out all remaining foods & liquids

Flatten or squash boxes, cartons and cans

Remove plastic packaging from cardboard & paper

Check that your plastic containers are recyclable

Make sure you are putting the correct material in each container

For further information on materials accepted, charges etc, contact the Civic Recycling Facility directly on 291 3600
