Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown Waste: (Where's my Bottlebank?)

Introduction:

Links to: Introduction, Ballyogan Recycling Park, Bring Banks in your areaComposting, Green Bins, Waiver Scheme, Waste Charges, What happens to your waste?

Most homes in the County have a weekly grey wheelie bin or bag collection. Dún Laoghaire Rathdown County Council has now moved away from a flat charge of €300 a year to a new system based on an annual standing charge of €80, a charge of €4 per lift for each 140/240 litre grey/black bin or €18 per lift for each 1,100 litre grey/black bin and a twenty five cent charge per kilogramme of waste placed in the grey bin.

You can lower your costs by reducing the amount of waste you produce.

The  Ballyogan Recycling Park accepts all kinds of waste, some of which you pay for getting rid of, some of which are free, although you'll probably need a car to get there.

Here's a list of Bring Banks in your area, and there's also local information for Blackrock, Ballybrack and around Dún Laoghaire.

Another way of reducing your waste is by Composting, if you 've a garden with space for a compost heap

Here's some information amount the monthly Green Bin collection that most householders receive.

There's more information on Waste Charges here.

Finally you can find out  What happens to the waste that you've recycled.
