GREEN
PARTY SENDS SANTA CHRISTMAS WISH LIST
As Christmas draws near the Green Party has drawn up its wish list
for the politicians in Dún Laoghaire. Shortly before the note went up the
chimney of a smokeless fuel fire,
Ciarán
Cuffe
the Green Party’s Dáil candidate
in Dún Laoghaire caught a quick glance at the list.
While it failed to include a partridge in a pear
tree, it did cover many other requests that have been sent to Santa by residents
in the Dún Laoghaire area over the last year, and we include some extracts from
the list.
“On the first day of Christmas,
The Green Party sent to me
A new Maternity unit in Loughlinstown Hospital
On the second day of Christmas
The Green Party sent to me
Two additional judges for the Flood Tribunal,
And a new Maternity unit in Loughlinstown Hospital
…
Three new Quality Bus Corridors,
Four ‘One-stop shops’ for Council services,
Five times more support for recycling,
Six hundred housing starts for the County,
Seven Blue Flag beaches,
A reprieve for the Number Eight bus,
Nine new playing pitches,
Ten fully accessible DART stations,
Eleven new children’s playgrounds,
Twelve well designed cycle lanes”
The Green Party takes the opportunity to wish you
all a happy and enjoyable holiday period.
