RELEASE
GREEN
PARTY TO RECYCLE ELECTION POSTERS INTO SEWER PIPES AND MANHOLE COVERS
The
Green Party announced plans today to recycle their election posters. Their
candidates intend donating their posters to a recycling company, which will
shred the posters and cable, ties and send them to the UK for use in the
manufacturing of plumbing products including manhole covers and sewer pipes.
Announcing
the move their Dún Laoghaire candidate, Ciarán Cuffe stated:
“this is a good example of practicing what we preach. I’m sure many
people will be delighted to know that politicians’ posters shall be recycled
into sewer pipes.
“Let’
s hope that all political parties will recycle their election posters rather
than dump them after the election.”
Fingal
Recycling (contact Mark Dunne 841 5700) will be accepting used election posters
from all shades of the political spectrum in the week after the election.
