Cuffe pays tribute to Prisons Inspector

Green Party Justice spokesperson Ciarán Cuffe TD paid tribute this afternoon to the Inspector of Prisons, Justice Dermot Kinlen.

Deputy Cuffe said: "I am very saddened to learn of the death of Dermot Kinlen. In his position as Inspector of Prisons, Mr Kinlen was a steadfast advocate for prisoners' rights and for the need for radical reform of the Irish prison system.

"He worked tirelessly to highlight the unacceptable conditions in our prisons, and his unique and fearless voice will be sorely missed."
