Ciarán Cuffe asked the Minister for the Environment, Heritage and Local Government the number of dwellings which have been purchased by local authorities for housing purposes in each of the past five years and the number of dwellings which have been purchased by local authorities for housing purposes in each of the past five years.

Minister of State at the Department of the Environment, Heritage and Local Government: Detailed information on the number of dwellings constructed and acquired by local authorities in the years 2000 to 2004 is available in the Annual Housing Statistics Bulletins for those years published by my Department, copies of which are available in the Oireachtas Library and on the Department’s website at www.environ.ie.
