Local Elections

On Friday 23rd May 2014 Local Elections took place to elect 63 councillors to Dublin City Council.  The European Elections took place on the same day and Eamon Ryan was the Green Party’s candidate for Europe. I was delighted to be one of twelve Green Party councilors elected to local authorities around Ireland  on that day.

I ran for election in the North Inner City, one of the nine wards in Dublin City. The North Inner City includes Stoneybatter, Smithfield, Phibsboro (South), North Circular Road, Mountjoy, Liffey Quays (North), East Wall, Dorset Street, Docklands (North), Clonliffe Road, Blessington Basin, Ballybough, Amiens Street.

Anyone over 18 who lives in Ireland is entitled to vote in future local elections. You don’t have to be an Irish Citizen. You can see if you’re on the electoral register at CheckTheRegister.ie  or Get Registered to Vote here.
